Aspects of the History of Irish Dancing - Dr. John Cullinane

Sale price$25.00 AUD

According to Peadar and Gerald O'Rafferty, 1953: "No book has yet been written dealing exclusively with the history of Irish Dancing."

This book, first published in 1987, was the first attempt to fill that niche. It consists of a series of essays dealing with: the origins of Irish dancing; history of the first Céilí’s held in London 1897; account of Kerry Dance Masters; influence of the Cork Pipers Club, origins of the Féis; origins of solo set dances; and various essays on Irish dancing in North America, England, Australia and New Zealand.
